Prepare your backpack for a 3-day trek. The backpack that you prepare for the trek, will be on your back for three days, so you will need to ponder what to bring and evaluate what is really essential.
Below are some points that may be useful. What to bring?
Water bottle (flask) or plastic bottle for water • Waterproof jacket (not padded) or cape
Single sheet or double sheet (at the refuge you can buy lots of disposable bed sheets)
A “long” change ! (long pants and long-sleeved shirt)
A fleece or a warm sweater
A frontal torch or a small, lightweight flashlight (in the shelter at a certain time the light is off)
Chocolate, nuts or other sweets (in case of need, sugars are the fastest to enter the bloodstream)
The basic necessities for body care
Some Band – Aid. • Sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm (we will be at high altitudes and need protection from ultraviolet rays)
Drugs for personal use
What not to bring?
Glass containers (they can break and are heavy)
Soft drink cans (they are very delicate and can be easily pierced)
Too much food (We’ll find enough food in the refuge!)
Sleeping bag (weighty and unnecessary: in the refuge we will find warm blankets)
Too many clothes (bulky, heavy and not essential)
Rigid and bulky beauty cases
N.B. It is very important to have the proper footwear, but avoid new boots that can cause painful blisters.
